Jimin‘s music continues to achieve milestones on the world’s largest music streaming platform, Spotify. Being about 3 and a half months after his solo debut, not only these new and unprecedented milestones for his album ‘FACE’ as well as his single ‘Like Crazy,’ but also the rate at which he is posting the achievements as a first for any Korean solo artist, speaks volumes to the overwhelming demand for his work. Recently, both ‘FACE’ and ‘Like Crazy’ have recorded new streaming achievements on Spotify.
On July 1, ‘FACE‘ surpassed 700 Million streams on Spotify having taken just 99 days, making it the fastest album by a Korean or K-pop soloist in history to achieve this feat. This was 184 days faster than the previous record.
Additionally, it also became the fastest debut project by a K-pop act to reach the same milestone, accomplishing this 159 days faster than the previous record.
Consequently, Jimin now becomes one of the only 2 Korean solo artist in Spotify history to have an album cross the 700 Million stream mark in total streams.
In other news, ‘Like Crazy‘ surpassed 300 Million streams on Spotify as of July 6, adding two more records to Jimin’s name.
Having taken 104 days to reach this milestone, the song became the fastest solo song by a Korean solo artist to reach this feat, surpassing ‘Money’, as well as getting into a tie (with ‘Left & Right) as the fastest song by a Korean solo artist to reach the feat.
Fans are especially proud of Jimin for both of these records because in both cases, the songs that previously held the records had been on Spotify’s biggest playlist ‘Today’s Top Hits’, which allowed them the advantage of reaching a wider scope of audience and thus boosting their streaming numbers significantly. Like Crazy has not had any of this boost, making the achievement that much more impressive.
With all these new streaming milestones, Jimin has now surpassed 1.4 Billion streams on Spotify across all credits, again making him the fastest Korean solo artist to reach this feat in only 436 days, which is 213 days faster than the previous record!
Jimin also becomes the first and only K-pop/Korean soloist to garner 1.2 Billion streams in a single year on Spotify, and the only K-pop soloist to reach 800M to 1.2 Billion streams in a single year, more specifically in 6 months and 6 days only.
