Jimin‘s hit solo debut single ‘Like Crazy‘ has reached yet another historical milestone, carving his name in history as the fastest million seller K-pop soloist in the USA to further solidify his status as a trailblazer of sales and streaming records globally among Korean solo artists.
After making its debut at #1 on the USA Billboard Hot 100 chart and reaching #1 on Spotify Global Daily Top Songs chart as the first Korean solo artist in history to achieve both of these, as well as becoming the fastest song in history to attain an iTunes all-kill (#1 in all 119 available countries), ‘Like Crazy’ has now become the fastest song by a Korean solo artist to sell over 1 Million units in the world’s biggest music market, the USA. It also became the first and only song by a K-pop solo artist in 2023 to achieve this feat.
This makes the song eligible for an RIAA Platinum Certification in the USA, achieving this in just 155 days from release and beating the previous record of 225 days.
In matters of streaming, ‘Like Crazy‘ has also set a new record on Spotify, as the most streamed Korean song released in 2023. Spotify is the world’s largest music streaming platform, and the song achieving such a feat is a clear demonstration of how much Jimin’s music is loved and appreciated globally.
It reached this milestone in just 157 days from its release, having attained 474.6 Million streams on the platform, and it also now ranks as the 3rd most streamed song by a Korean/K-pop Act in 2023 on the same platform.
