Jin‘s solo single album “The Astronaut” became a major success globally and locally. Recently, the Secretary General of KMCA listed Jin as the “complete idol”, who’s successful in streams and charts, holding the public’s interest. Jin is only a few thousand sales away from becoming the best-selling K-pop soloist of the decade. He sold over 1 million albums (excluding the USA and Europe). Jin has a gold certificate on the Circle (Gaon) chart and the RIA certificate in Japan (after selling over 104k albums).
OK-POP, a YouTube channel run by the Korea Music Contents Association and Circle Chart, released the video announcing the grades of Korean male idols in the second half.
Even after 3,5 months since its release, “The Astronaut” is taking 2nd and 3rd place in the “Steady sellers of the week” on Weverse Shop in the USA. The 2nd version of the album is sold out!
The astronaut is listed under WEVERSE USA STEADY SELLERS OF THE WEEK, where the items “trending” and being sold the most are listed. Version 2 is sold out.
Meanwhile, fans are still complaining to Hybe about the lack of information regarding Jin’s physical sales in the USA and Europe. All we know is that Jin became the best-selling K-pop soloist in digitals in the USA. “The Astronaut” had the 6th best-selling debut week in the USA in 2022 (with just digital sales). Many fans trend hashtags and send their complaints to Hybe. However, no statement has been made by the company.
