After releasing his first solo album, BTS’s RM is already preparing to produce his second solo album.
According to EFE, a Spanish news media outlet, RM traveled to Spain to find new inspiration for his new music. During the interview, RM shared that he would love to collaborate with Spanish singer Rosalia and also shared his thoughts on the future of BTS.
BTS has gone into a group activity hiatus, with the members focusing more on individual activities and also preparing to enlist for their mandatory military service. Member Jin has already enlisted last year in December, and J-Hope is expected to follow suit in the next few months.
In the interview with EFE, RM shared, “When you are famous, staying on top is very difficult, but I think BTS will make it. It will come together again when we finish our military service, and we will look for new synergies between us to enter a second phase. But, in any case, nothing lasts forever.” While he promised fans that BTS will come together as a group again, he hinted at the reality of the K-pop industry. Nevertheless, he gave great hope to BTS fans as they will promote as a group again.
RM shared more in-depth about his thoughts on BTS and his current stance in his music career. He explained, “After 10 years as a member of BTS, I didn’t know who I was and I wanted to know. I started out as a teenage rapper, then BTS came along and it was all very intense. Now that the group is inactive, I’ve gone back to thinking about the beginnings and the real reasons why I joined BTS.”
Regarding his travel to Spain, RM shared, “I wanted to see artworks by (painters) Goya, Velazquez, and Picasso for inspiration and I’ve been to the Prado and other museums. I came to Spain because of my love of its art and, if someone learns about my country’s culture through my songs, it is an honor that makes me happy.”
