Kim Taehyung, aka V from BTS, will undoubtedly be missed by many while he serves in the military.
On December 12, Park Seo Joon joined PD Na Young-Seok (Na PD) for a YouTube live broadcast to discuss his new project, Netflix’s original series “Gyeongseong Creature.”
Noticing purple heart emojis in the comments, Na PD asked Seo Joon about Taehyung’s well-being since his enlistment. Park Seo Joon then shared details of his last meeting with Taehyung before the latter entered the training center.
Na PD: There was a great event that shook up the nation of Korea.
Seo Joon: Which was…?
Na PD: The enlistment of BTS’s V, our Taehyungie.
Seo Joon: Yeah.
Na PD: Is everything alright with our Taehyung? Did he get there OK? I’m asking because I see a lot of purple hearts in chat, and I assume many fans who miss Taehyung are watching now. Did he get there without any trouble?
Seo Joon: Yeah, I saw him before he left, and we even talked on the phone before the enlistment. He said he’ll be back safe and sound in no time. His voice sounded bright and cheery, so I thought he would fit right in. He’s such a social person, so I’m sure he’s going to get along with everyone right away.
Taehyung has been in the military for two days, having entered the training center on the 11th. Consequently, they continued to speculate about his current activities.
Dae Joo: So he has been gone for two days now?
Seo Joon: Yeah, it’s his second day today.
Dae Joo: Ah. It’s going to be a long day for him, then.
Na PD: Ahhh, the second day. Seo Joon, do you remember your second day? Did you train at Nonsan?
Seo Joon: Yeah, I went to Nonsan.
Na PD: The second day in Nonsan is…
Dae Joo: It makes you think, “What am I even doing here?!” (Laughs)
Na PD: Hold on, let’s see. It’s 7 PM now, so he probably ate dinner already, and…
Dae Joo: Probably cleaned the shared area, too.
Na PD: He may have received his training attire by now…
Seo Joon: Well, I spent like three days for the initial enlistment process…
Na PD: Yeah, so he’s probably getting his uniform and his boots.
Seo Joon: And getting a physical examination done, too.
Na PD: The actual training has not begun yet. But I’m sure he’s going to do well.

Days before Taehyung’s enlistment, Na PD and Park Seo Joon threw a surprise pre-birthday celebration for him. Knowing he’ll be serving during his birthday on December 30, they wanted to make sure he felt loved ahead of his departure.
Taehyung will wrap up his 18-month mandatory military service in June 2025. Just before his departure, he penned a heartfelt letter to fans and bid farewell amidst the warm company of his closest friends.
