RM reveals the reason Jin was missing from 'ARIRANG' album credits

By A.R.M.Y AllKpop 25/03/2026

BTS member Jin has revealed why his name was absent from the production credits of the group’s new album ‘ARIRANG.’

On March 20, BTS held a live broadcast titled Studio Note Arirang via the fan platform Weverse, where they shared behind-the-scenes stories about their fifth full-length album, released the same day.

The album features a total of 14 tracks, including the title song “Swim.” RM, who is credited for writing and composing “Swim,” along with Suga, J-Hope, Jungkook, V, and Jimin, participated in writing and composing several of the B-sides, earning spots in the album credits. In contrast, Jin’s name does not appear in the credits for any of the 14 tracks.

RM explained, “It’s a shame if Jin had finished his tour a bit earlier, he would have been able to join us more.”

V added, “There was time for us to work together, but he wasn’t in good condition and was continuing his tour,” while Jungkook remarked, “Didn’t he head somewhere else before us again?” referring to Jin’s packed schedule.

RM and Jimin expressed their appreciation, telling Jin, “You worked really hard,” and “Thanks to you holding the team together, this album was able to come out.”

Jungkook also showed his support by patting Jin on the shoulder, while Jin smiled and said, “I’m just glad there are so many great songs.”

As the eldest member of BTS, Jin was the first among the group to complete his military service, being discharged in June 2024.

After his discharge, he released his first solo album ‘Happy‘ and launched ‘Run Seokjin,’ a spin-off of BTS’s original content ‘Run BTS.’ As part of the project, he also held his solo world tour ‘Run Seokjin,’ meeting fans around the globe.

He further filled BTS’s military hiatus by appearing in various variety shows, including the Netflix series ‘Kian’s Bizarre B&B,’ as well as other entertainment programs and YouTube content.

Due to overlapping solo tour schedules, Jin joined BTS’s songwriting camp in the United States last July at a later stage, ultimately being unable to participate in writing or composing for the album.
