In a surprising revelation from the recently published book “Beyond the Story: 10 Year Record of BTS,” Suga, one of the members of global superstars BTS, has spoken about his hopes to become a licensed psychological therapist, aiming to provide support for future artists who may grapple with the same anxieties and struggles he has experienced.
The journey to success hasn’t always been smooth for Suga. He describes the constant fear and anxiety that came with the group’s soaring popularity as a “shadow” that had always haunted him. He openly confronts this fear in “Interlude: Shadow,” a deeply introspective song where he discusses his experiences with success and the accompanying inner turmoil.
Suga’s interest in psychology stems from a desire to better understand and express his emotions through music. He explains, “The big reason I studied psychology was that it’s very helpful for my music. There’s a lot to be gained from learning about the formal definitions of emotions.”
While still deeply committed to his musical journey, Suga reveals he has another dream: becoming a licensed psychological therapist. This aspiration, he says, is born out of a desire to help others in the industry who might experience similar struggles.
