Kim Taehyung, aka V from BTS, recently released ‘FRI(END)S,‘ a pop soul R&B track that expresses the desire to “put the ‘end’ in friends” and elevate a longstanding friendship to a deeper level, as cleverly hinted by the title’s wordplay.
On March 18, W Korea unveiled a ‘FRI(END)S’ live performance video in collaboration with the French luxury brand Cartier, for which Taehyung has been serving as the brand ambassador since July 2023.
In the video, Taehyung performs standing in the middle of Cartier’s Maison Cheongdam, their flagship store in Seoul. The live performance showcases Taehyung’s flawless and stable vocals and captures his visuals and aura as a fashion muse.
Taehyung’s sleek attire, in rich brown and burgundy tones, is accessorized with gold Cartier jewelry and a watch to accentuate his dreamy visuals to the fullest.
According to W Korea, Taehyung couldn’t hide his excitement on the day of the shooting, saying that he was finally able to showcase the song he had treasured for two years. The song is described as a sweet and poignant confession, suitable for the Spring season.
This marks the beginning of W Korea’s “Special Contents with V,” a series of exclusive videos that will be released in the coming days for “FRI(END)S” in collaboration with Cartier.
American entertainment publication, ‘Variety,’ wrote about the performance, stating, “V’s smooth vocals, which seamlessly traverse between low and high ranges, fill the room. Through nuanced facial expressions that reflect his unwavering focus, intensifying in tandem with the song’s melody, V confidently showcases his magnetic presence as a solo artist with his distinctive sound.”
