With Indonesia being one of the largest markets for K-pop, major companies have been hiring Korean stars as ambassadors for years.
The latest to join the trend is SimInvest, an online trading and investment platform owned by Sinar Mas, one of the largest conglomerates in Indonesia. SimInvest unveiled Kim Taehyung, aka V of BTS, as the face of their brand on March 2023.
To increase brand awareness and attract more investors to their platform, SimInvest has been working closely with HYBE to organize an exclusive fan meet event with Taehyung for its users.
SimInvest’s Fan Meet Event is scheduled for June 11 and will feature an interview and photo session with Taehyung, who will attend as the brand ambassador.
Between March 23 and May 5, SimInvest users had the opportunity to register for “SimInvestival Goes to Korea,” a chance to be among the 80 fortunate winners who will embark on a trip to South Korea to meet Taehyung.
The announcement of the 80 lucky winners, including ten Gold winners and seventy Silver winners, was made on May 7 via Instagram Live.

SimInvest’s announcement of the winners who registered for Taehyung’s fan meet event revealed that most of the Gold winners are Indonesian men, defying the cliché that male idols only have female fans.
Their investment transactions on the platform ranged from 920,000 to 13 million Indonesian rupiah (or 80 million to 1.2 billion Korean won).
Some lucky fans who were chosen as winners for the Fan Meet Event shared the joy of their victory on social media.
Many have observed that Taehyung is one of the BTS members who has a large number of male fans. Taehyung seems to be aware of his popularity among guys and has given them special recognition at their concerts.
