Big Hit Music confirms one-hour duration for BTS Gwanghwamun comeback, denies Seoul City restrictions

By A.R.M.Y AllKpop 28/02/2026

Big Hit Music addressed recent speculation regarding BTS’s upcoming comeback performance at Gwanghwamun Square, Seoul.

BTS will perform for one hour as part of their ‘BTS Comeback Live: ARIRANG event,’ premiering songs from their fifth full-length album, ‘ARIRANG.’ The performance will be held on March 21 at 8 p.m. KST and streamed globally via Netflix.

Recently, online rumors suggested that the performance duration had been shortened due to restrictions from the Seoul Metropolitan Government. On February 28, Big Hit Music clarified, “The Seoul Metropolitan Government never limited the duration of BTS’s Gwanghwamun Square performance to one hour. The length of the performance was decided by Big Hit Music.”

The agency explained that the one-hour limit was determined after considering “the unique characteristics of an outdoor space, audience safety, site control, convenience of public transportation, and late-night noise levels.”

The performance will begin at the recently restored Gwanghwamun Wall, pass through Heungnyemun and Geunjeongmun gates, move past King Sejong’s statue, and proceed to the center of the square. As a free public event, up to 260,000 attendees are expected. On-site arrangements will include standing and reserved seating, with large LED screens for areas with restricted visibility.

BTS’s ‘ARIRANG’ album will be released on March 20 at 1 p.m. KST, offering fans a highly anticipated new chapter in the group’s musical journey.
