At around 3 pm (KST) November 6, the music video (MV) for boy group BTS’s hit single ” Boy With Luv ” officially surpassed 1.6 billion views on YouTube. .
Released on April 12, 2019, as the title track of the group’s 6th mini-album Map Of The Soul: Persona , this MV has achieved the above important milestone after 3 years and 6 years. 6 and 3 weeks.
Thereby, the MV ” Boy With Luv ” has become the first MV of BTS to reach 1.6 billion views. This is also the first music video by a K-pop boy group in general to reach this number.
However, there are 3 other Korean MVs that have reached this milestone on YouTube so far: PSY’s Gangnam Style , girl group Blackpink ‘s DDU-DU DDU-DU and Kill This Love .
Boy With Luv , starring American singer Halsey, has been described as a “funk pop” song about happiness and love. This is a parallel track to BTS’ previous song called Boy In Luv , released in 2014.
According to Billboard , the song describes true strength and love that comes from finding joy in the little things in life. Yim Hyun Su of The Korea Herald described the lead single as “an electro-pop song with catchy choruses”.
