The reason was an integral part of the music video.
BTS‘s Jin recently released his solo track “The Astronaut,” which left ARMY incredibly emotional because of both the lyrics and the music video’s story.
According to Jin himself, he portrays an extraterrestrial being that crash lands on Earth. Although he is supposed to return home to his planet, when his ship returns for him, he chooses to stay back for the people and precious things he learned to love on Earth.
Of course, the story represents BTS and ARMY, reassuring fans that Jin is staying with his found family. The timing for the music video is perfect as ARMY have been preparing to see Jin enlist in the military and now have the reassurance that he’ll always return to BTS.

And Jin himself is proud of the music video, entertaining fans with his surprising favorite scenes.
But in a recent behind-the-scenes look at the music video filming process, Jin admits that he “never imagined” he’d film a music video like “The Astronaut.” Not only has it “been so long since [he’s] filmed a music video…”
But Jin admits that he never expected to have a female protagonist featured in his music video.
But, of course, the little girl who became friends with Jin’s character, representing ARMY, was an integral part of the story.
The little girl, Victoria, and Jin quickly became friends while filming, which helped their adorable scenes in the music video.
There couldn’t have been a better music video for Jin’s incredible track.
