BTS member RM recently shared a humorous military anecdote involving an unexpected PX shopping incident during his mandatory service.
During a Weverse Live broadcast on May 20, BTS members revisited memories from their military days. RM recalled lending his card to soldiers from an adjacent unit so they could purchase snacks at the military PX (post exchange).
What started as a simple favor quickly escalated. The soldiers reportedly spent around 660,000 KRW (approximately 438 USD), buying a large number of items including snacks and personal care products such as snail cream.
RM said the PX POS system actually broke down because of the unusually large purchase and added that he was told it was the first time such an incident had ever happened, expressing his disbelief at the situation.
When he later reviewed the receipt, RM discovered that it contained over 100 items. He explained that the soldiers had apparently bought goods to take back home for their parents. His squad leader eventually called him in to question the situation, prompting RM to apologize.
The story quickly went viral online, with fans reacting with a mix of amusement and disbelief, commenting on the unusually large purchase and joking about RM’s unintended act of generosity during his service.
