All 7 members of BTS have applied for a postponement of enlistment until the age of 30. Thus, BTS can continue to perform with 7 members until December 2022.

Most Korean men have to enlist when they turn 28, but BTS was previously allowed to delay enlistment until the age of 30 because they received the Hwagwan Cultural Medal – a 5th Class Cultural Medal.

BTS’ ability to postpone enlistment gives Jin, the oldest member, the opportunity to postpone his enlistment until he turns 30 in December 2022.

If Jin cannot postpone his enlistment, he will have to enlist in December 2021.

According to Arirang, currently, all the members have applied for a postponement of enlistment and so BTS can continue to perform as 7 members until Jin enlists in December 2022.

Because all of the members have applied for a postponement, each member will be able to work with the group until they turn 30 and have to start their military service.
