Kim Taehyung, aka V from BTS, recently released ‘FRI(END)S,’ a pop soul R&B track that expresses the desire to “put the ‘end’ in friends” and elevate a longstanding friendship to a deeper level, as cleverly hinted by the title’s wordplay.
Even as he fulfills his mandatory military service, Taehyung continues to be a significant presence in the music scene with the release of ‘FRI(END)S.’
On Spotify, ‘FRI(END)S’ earned the biggest first-week song debut by K-pop acts in 2024, with 31,486,781 streams, surpassing ‘EASY’ by LE SSERAFIM.
In addition to its weekly debut, ‘FRI(END)S’ also earned 6,265,878 streams on its first day on Spotify. This marked the biggest first-day song debut among Korean soloists, as well as among K-pop acts overall, in 2024.
Congratulations, Kim Taehyung!
